Surah Ar-Rahman
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
اَلرَّحْمٰنُۙ١
Ar-raḥmān(u).
[1]
The Most Merciful
عَلَّمَ الْقُرْاٰنَۗ٢
‘Allamal-qur'ān(a).
[2]
Taught the Qur'an,
خَلَقَ الْاِنْسَانَۙ٣
Khalaqal-insān(a).
[3]
Created man,
عَلَّمَهُ الْبَيَانَ٤
‘Allamahul-bayān(a).
[4]
[And] taught him eloquence.
اَلشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍۙ٥
Asy-syamsu wal-qamaru biḥusbān(in).
[5]
The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation,
وَّالنَّجْمُ وَالشَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَانِ٦
Wan-najmu wasy-syajaru yasjudān(i).
[6]
And the stars and trees prostrate.
وَالسَّمَاۤءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ الْمِيْزَانَۙ٧
Was-samā'a rafa‘ahā wa waḍa‘al-mīzān(a).
[7]
And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance
اَلَّا تَطْغَوْا فِى الْمِيْزَانِ٨
Allā taṭgau fil-mīzān(i).
[8]
That you not transgress within the balance.
وَاَقِيْمُوا الْوَزْنَ بِالْقِسْطِ وَلَا تُخْسِرُوا الْمِيْزَانَ٩
Wa aqīmul-wazna bil-qisṭi wa lā tukhsirul-mīzān(a).
[9]
And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance.
وَالْاَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلْاَنَامِۙ١٠
Wal-arḍa waḍa‘ahā lil-anām(i).
[10]
And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures.
فِيْهَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَّالنَّخْلُ ذَاتُ الْاَكْمَامِۖ١١
Fīhā fākihatuw wan-nakhlu żātul-akmām(i).
[11]
Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates]
وَالْحَبُّ ذُو الْعَصْفِ وَالرَّيْحَانُۚ١٢
Wal-ḥabbu żul-‘aṣfi war-raiḥān(u).
[12]
And grain having husks and scented plants.
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ١٣
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[13]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
خَلَقَ الْاِنْسَانَ مِنْ صَلْصَالٍ كَالْفَخَّارِ١٤
Khalaqal-insāna min ṣalṣālin kal-fakhkhār(i).
[14]
He created man from clay like [that of] pottery.
وَخَلَقَ الْجَاۤنَّ مِنْ مَّارِجٍ مِّنْ نَّارٍۚ١٥
Wa khalaqal-jānna mim mārijim min nār(in).
[15]
And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire.
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ١٦
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[16]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقَيْنِ وَرَبُّ الْمَغْرِبَيْنِۚ١٧
Rabbul-masyriqaini wa rabbul-magribain(i).
[17]
[He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets.
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ١٨
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[18]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
مَرَجَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ يَلْتَقِيٰنِۙ١٩
Marajal-baḥraini yaltaqiyān(i).
[19]
He released the two seas, meeting [side by side];
بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخٌ لَّا يَبْغِيٰنِۚ٢٠
Bainahumā barzakhul lā yabgiyān(i).
[20]
Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses.
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ٢١
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[21]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُمَا اللُّؤْلُؤُ وَالْمَرْجَانُۚ٢٢
Yakhruju minhumal-lu'lu'u wal-marjān(u).
[22]
From both of them emerge pearl and coral.
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ٢٣
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[23]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
وَلَهُ الْجَوَارِ الْمُنْشَاٰتُ فِى الْبَحْرِ كَالْاَعْلَامِۚ٢٤
Wa lahul-jawāril-munsya'ātu fil-baḥri kal-a‘lām(i).
[24]
And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains.
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ ࣖ٢٥
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[25]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍۖ٢٦
Kullu man ‘alaihā fān(in).
[26]
Everyone upon the earth will perish,
وَّيَبْقٰى وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو الْجَلٰلِ وَالْاِكْرَامِۚ٢٧
Wa yabqā wajhu rabbika żul-jalāli wal-ikrām(i).
[27]
And there will remain the Face of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor.
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ٢٨
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[28]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
يَسْـَٔلُهٗ مَنْ فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِۗ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فِيْ شَأْنٍۚ٢٩
Yas'aluhū man fis-samāwāti wal-arḍ(i), kulla yaumin huwa fī sya'n(in).
[29]
Whoever is within the heavens and earth asks Him; every day He is bringing about a matter.
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ٣٠
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[30]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ اَيُّهَ الثَّقَلٰنِۚ٣١
Sanafrugu lakum ayyuhaṡ-ṡaqalān(i).
[31]
We will attend to you, O prominent beings.
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ٣٢
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[32]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
يٰمَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ وَالْاِنْسِ اِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ اَنْ تَنْفُذُوْا مِنْ اَقْطَارِ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ فَانْفُذُوْاۗ لَا تَنْفُذُوْنَ اِلَّا بِسُلْطٰنٍۚ٣٣
Yā ma‘syaral-jinni wal-insi inistaṭa‘tum an tanfużū min aqṭāris-samāwāti wal-arḍi fanfużū, lā tanfużūna illā bisulṭān(in).
[33]
O company of jinn and mankind, if you are able to pass beyond the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass. You will not pass except by authority [from Allah].
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ٣٤
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[34]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُمَا شُوَاظٌ مِّنْ نَّارٍۙ وَّنُحَاسٌ فَلَا تَنْتَصِرَانِۚ٣٥
Yursalu ‘alaikumā syuwāẓum min nār(in), wa nuḥāsun falā tantaṣirān(i).
[35]
There will be sent upon you a flame of fire and smoke, and you will not defend yourselves.
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ٣٦
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[36]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فَاِذَا انْشَقَّتِ السَّمَاۤءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةً كَالدِّهَانِۚ٣٧
Fa iżansyaqqatis-samā'u fa kānat wardatan kad-dihān(i).
[37]
And when the heaven is split open and becomes rose-colored like oil -
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ٣٨
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[38]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُسْـَٔلُ عَنْ ذَنْۢبِهٖٓ اِنْسٌ وَّلَا جَاۤنٌّۚ٣٩
Fa yauma'iżil lā yus'alu ‘an żambihī insuw wa lā jānn(un).
[39]
Then on that Day none will be asked about his sin among men or jinn.
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ٤٠
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[40]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
يُعْرَفُ الْمُجْرِمُوْنَ بِسِيْمٰهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِالنَّوَاصِيْ وَالْاَقْدَامِۚ٤١
Yu‘raful-mujrimūna bisīmāhum fa yu'khażu bin-nawāṣī wal-aqdām(i).
[41]
The criminals will be known by their marks, and they will be seized by the forelocks and the feet.
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ٤٢
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[42]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
هٰذِهٖ جَهَنَّمُ الَّتِيْ يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا الْمُجْرِمُوْنَۘ٤٣
Hāżihī jahannamul-latī yukażżibu bihal-mujrimūn(a).
[43]
This is Hell, which the criminals deny.
يَطُوْفُوْنَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ حَمِيْمٍ اٰنٍۚ٤٤
Yaṭūfūna bainahā wa baina ḥamīmin ān(in).
[44]
They will go around between it and scalding water, heated [to the utmost degree].
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ ࣖ٤٥
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[45]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهٖ جَنَّتٰنِۚ٤٦
Wa liman khāfa maqāma rabbihī jannatān(i).
[46]
But for he who has feared the position of his Lord are two gardens -
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِۙ٤٧
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[47]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -
ذَوَاتَآ اَفْنَانٍۚ٤٨
Żawātā afnān(in).
[48]
Having [spreading] branches.
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ٤٩
Fabi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[49]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فِيْهِمَا عَيْنٰنِ تَجْرِيٰنِۚ٥٠
Fīhimā ‘aināni tajriyān(i).
[50]
In both of them are two springs, flowing.
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ٥١
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[51]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فِيْهِمَا مِنْ كُلِّ فَاكِهَةٍ زَوْجٰنِۚ٥٢
Fīhimā min kulli fākihatin zaujān(i).
[52]
In both of them are of every fruit, two kinds.
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِۚ٥٣
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[53]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
مُتَّكِـِٕيْنَ عَلٰى فُرُشٍۢ بَطَاۤىِٕنُهَا مِنْ اِسْتَبْرَقٍۗ وَجَنَا الْجَنَّتَيْنِ دَانٍۚ٥٤
Muttaki'īna ‘alā furusyim baṭā'inuhā min istabraq(in), wa janal-jannataini dān(in).
[54]
[They are] reclining on beds whose linings are of silk brocade, and the fruit of the two gardens is hanging low.
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ٥٥
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[55]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فِيْهِنَّ قٰصِرٰتُ الطَّرْفِۙ لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ اِنْسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَاۤنٌّۚ٥٦
Fīhinna qāṣirātuṭ-ṭarf(i), lam yaṭmiṡhunna insun qablahum wa lā jānn(un).
[56]
In them are women limiting [their] glances, untouched before them by man or jinni -
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِۚ٥٧
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[57]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -
كَاَنَّهُنَّ الْيَاقُوْتُ وَالْمَرْجَانُۚ٥٨
Ka'annahunnal-yāqūtu wal-marjān(u).
[58]
As if they were rubies and coral.
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ٥٩
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[59]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
هَلْ جَزَاۤءُ الْاِحْسَانِ اِلَّا الْاِحْسَانُۚ٦٠
Hal jazā'ul-iḥsāni illal-iḥsān(u).
[60]
Is the reward for good [anything] but good?
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ٦١
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[61]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
وَمِنْ دُوْنِهِمَا جَنَّتٰنِۚ٦٢
Wa min dūnihimā jannatān(i).
[62]
And below them both [in excellence] are two [other] gardens -
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِۙ٦٣
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[63]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -
مُدْهَاۤمَّتٰنِۚ٦٤
Mudhāmmatān(i).
[64]
Dark green [in color].
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ٦٥
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[65]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فِيْهِمَا عَيْنٰنِ نَضَّاخَتٰنِۚ٦٦
Fīhimā ‘aināni naḍḍākhatān(i).
[66]
In both of them are two springs, spouting.
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِۚ٦٧
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[67]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فِيْهِمَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَّنَخْلٌ وَّرُمَّانٌۚ٦٨
Fīhimā fākihatuw wa nakhluw wa rummān(un).
[68]
In both of them are fruit and palm trees and pomegranates.
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِۚ٦٩
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[69]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فِيْهِنَّ خَيْرٰتٌ حِسَانٌۚ٧٠
Fīhinna khairātun ḥisān(un).
[70]
In them are good and beautiful women -
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِۚ٧١
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[71]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -
حُوْرٌ مَّقْصُوْرٰتٌ فِى الْخِيَامِۚ٧٢
Ḥūrum maqṣūrātun fil-khiyām(i).
[72]
Fair ones reserved in pavilions -
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِۚ٧٣
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[73]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -
لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ اِنْسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَاۤنٌّۚ٧٤
Lam yaṭmiṡhunna insun qablahum wa lā jānn(un).
[74]
Untouched before them by man or jinni -
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِۚ٧٥
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[75]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -
مُتَّكِـِٕيْنَ عَلٰى رَفْرَفٍ خُضْرٍ وَّعَبْقَرِيٍّ حِسَانٍۚ٧٦
Muttaki'īna ‘alā rafrafin khuḍriw wa ‘abqariyyin ḥisān(in).
[76]
Reclining on green cushions and beautiful fine carpets.
فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِۚ٧٧
Fa bi'ayyi ālā'i rabbikumā tukażżibān(i).
[77]
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
تَبٰرَكَ اسْمُ رَبِّكَ ذِى الْجَلٰلِ وَالْاِكْرَامِ ࣖ٧٨
Tabārakasmu rabbika żil-jalāli wal-ikrām(i).
[78]
Blessed is the name of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor.
