Surah Al-Hijr

Daftar Surah

Alif lām rā, tilka āyātul-kitābi wa qur'ānim mubīn(in).
[1] Alif, Lam, Ra. These are the verses of the Book and a clear Qur'an.

Rubamā yawaddul-lażīna kafarū lau kānū muslimīn(a).
[2] Perhaps those who disbelieve will wish that they had been Muslims.

[3] Let them eat and enjoy themselves and be diverted by [false] hope, for they are going to know.

[4] And We did not destroy any city but that for it was a known decree.

Mā tasbiqu min ummatin ajalahā wa mā yasta'khirūn(a).
[5] No nation will precede its term, nor will they remain thereafter.

Wa qālū yā ayyuhal-lażī nuzzila ‘alaihiż-żikru innaka lamajnūn(un).
[6] And they say, "O you upon whom the message has been sent down, indeed you are mad.

Lau mā ta'tīnā bil-malā'ikati in kunta minaṣ-ṣādiqīn(a).
[7] Why do you not bring us the angels, if you should be among the truthful?"

Mā nunazzilul-malā'ikata illā bil-ḥaqqi wa mā kānū iżam munẓarīn(a).
[8] We do not send down the angels except with truth; and the disbelievers would not then be reprieved.

Innā naḥnu nazzalnaż-żikra wa innā lahū laḥāfiẓūn(a).
[9] Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its guardian.

Wa laqad arsalnā min qablika fī syiya‘il-awwalīn(a).
[10] And We had certainly sent [messengers] before you, [O Muhammad], among the sects of the former peoples.

Wa mā ya'tīhim mir rasūlin illā kānū bihī yastahzi'ūn(a).
[11] And no messenger would come to them except that they ridiculed him.

Każālika naslukuhū fī qulūbil-mujrimīn(a).
[12] Thus do We insert denial into the hearts of the criminals.

Lā yu'minūna bihī wa qad khalat sunnatul-awwalīn(a).
[13] They will not believe in it, while there has already occurred the precedent of the former peoples.

Wa lau fataḥnā ‘alaihim bābam minas-samā'i fa ẓallū fīhi ya‘rujūn(a).
[14] And [even] if We opened to them a gate from the heaven and they continued therein to ascend,

Laqālū innamā sukkirat abṣārunā bal naḥnu qaumum masḥūrūn(a).
[15] They would say, "Our eyes have only been dazzled. Rather, we are a people affected by magic."

Wa laqad ja‘alnā fis-samā'i burūjaw wa zayyannāhā lin-nāẓirīn(a).
[16] And We have placed within the heaven great stars and have beautified it for the observers.

Wa ḥafiẓnāhā min kulli syaiṭānir rajīm(in).
[17] And We have protected it from every devil expelled [from the mercy of Allah]

Illā manistaraqas-sam‘a fa atba‘ahū syihābum mubīn(un).
[18] Except one who steals a hearing and is pursued by a clear burning flame.

Wal-arḍa madadnāhā wa alqainā fīhā rawāsiya wa ambatnā fīhā min kulli syai'im mauzūn(in).
[19] And the earth - We have spread it and cast therein firmly set mountains and caused to grow therein [something] of every well-balanced thing.

Wa ja‘alnā lakum fīhā ma‘āyisya wa mal lastum lahū birāziqīn(a).
[20] And We have made for you therein means of living and [for] those for whom you are not providers.

Wa im min syai'in illā ‘indanā khazā'inuhū wa mā nunazziluhū illā biqadarim ma‘lūm(un).
[21] And there is not a thing but that with Us are its depositories, and We do not send it down except according to a known measure.

Wa arsalnar-riyāḥa lawāqiha fa anzalnā minas-samā'i mā'an fa asqainākumūh(u), wa mā antum lahū bikhāzinīn(a).
[22] And We have sent the fertilizing winds and sent down water from the sky and given you drink from it. And you are not its retainers.

Wa innā lanaḥnu nuḥyī wa numītu wa naḥnul-wāriṡūn(a).
[23] And indeed, it is We who give life and cause death, and We are the Inheritor.

Wa laqad ‘alimnal-mustaqdimīna minkum wa laqad ‘alimnal-musta'khirīn(a).
[24] And We have already known the preceding [generations] among you, and We have already known the later [ones to come].

Wa inna rabbaka huwa yaḥsyuruhum, innahū ḥakīmun ‘alīm(un).
[25] And indeed, your Lord will gather them; indeed, He is Wise and Knowing.

Wa laqad khalaqnal-insāna min ṣalṣālim min ḥama'im masnūn(in).
[26] And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud.

Wal-jānna khalaqnāhu min qablu min nāris-samūm(i).
[27] And the jinn We created before from scorching fire.

Wa iż qāla rabbuka lil-malā'ikati innī khāliqum basyaram min ṣalṣālim min ḥama'im masnūn(in).
[28] And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "I will create a human being out of clay from an altered black mud.

Fa iżā sawwaituhū wa nafakhtu fīhi mir rūḥī fa qa‘ū lahū sājidīn(a).
[29] And when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration."

Fa sajadal-malā'ikatu kulluhum ajma‘ūn(a).
[30] So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely,

Illā iblīs(a), abā ay yakūna ma‘as-sājidīn(a).
[31] Except Iblees, he refused to be with those who prostrated.

Qāla yā iblīsu mā laka allā takūna ma‘as-sājidīn(a).
[32] [Allah] said, O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate?"

Qāla lam akul li'asjuda libasyarin khalaqtahū min ṣalṣālim min ḥama'im masnūn(in).
[33] He said, "Never would I prostrate to a human whom You created out of clay from an altered black mud."

Qāla fakhruj minhā fa innaka rajīm(un).
[34] [Allah] said, "Then get out of it, for indeed, you are expelled.

Wa inna ‘alaikal-la‘nata ilā yaumid-dīn(i).
[35] And indeed, upon you is the curse until the Day of Recompense."

Qāla rabbi fa anẓirnī ilā yaumi yub‘aṡūn(a).
[36] He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected."

Qāla fa innaka minal-munẓarīn(a).
[37] [Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved

Ilā yaumil-waqtil-ma‘lūm(i).
[38] Until the Day of the time well-known."

[39] [Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them all

Illā ‘ibādaka minhumul-mukhlaṣīn(a).
[40] Except, among them, Your chosen servants."

Qāla hāżā ṣirāṭun ‘alayya mustaqīm(un).
[41] [Allah] said, "This is a path [of return] to Me [that is] straight.

Inna ‘ibādī laisa laka ‘alaihim sulṭānun illā manittaba‘aka minal-gāwīn(a).
[42] Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators.

Wa inna jahannama lamau‘iduhum ajma‘īn(a).
[43] And indeed, Hell is the promised place for them all.

Lahā sab‘atu abwāb(in), likulli bābim minhum juz'um maqsūm(un).
[44] It has seven gates; for every gate is of them a portion designated."

Innal-muttaqīna fī jannātiw wa ‘uyūn(in).
[45] Indeed, the righteous will be within gardens and springs.

Udkhulūhā bisalāmin āminīn(a).
[46] [Having been told], "Enter it in peace, safe [and secure]."

Wa naza‘nā mā fī ṣudūrihim min gillin ikhwānan ‘alā sururim mutaqābilīn(a).
[47] And We will remove whatever is in their breasts of resentment, [so they will be] brothers, on thrones facing each other.

Lā yamassuhum fīhā naṣabuw wa mā hum minhā bimukhrajīn(a).
[48] No fatigue will touch them therein, nor from it will they [ever] be removed.

Nabbi' ‘ibādī annī anal-gafūrur-raḥīm(u).
[49] [O Muhammad], inform My servants that it is I who am the Forgiving, the Merciful.

Wa anna ‘ażābī huwal-‘ażābul-alīm(u).
[50] And that it is My punishment which is the painful punishment.

Wa nabbi'hum ‘an ḍaifi ibrāhīm(a).
[51] And inform them about the guests of Abraham,

Iż dakhalū ‘alaihi fa qālū salāmā(n), qāla innā minkum wajilūn(a).
[52] When they entered upon him and said, "Peace." [Abraham] said, "Indeed, we are fearful of you."

Qālū lā taujal innā nubasysyiruka bigulāmin ‘alīm(in).
[53] [The angels] said, "Fear not. Indeed, we give you good tidings of a learned boy."

Qāla abasysyartumūnī ‘alā am massaniyal-kibaru fa bima tubasysyirūn(a).
[54] He said, "Have you given me good tidings although old age has come upon me? Then of what [wonder] do you inform?"

Qālū basysyarnāka bil-ḥaqqi falā takum minal-qāniṭīn(a).
[55] They said, "We have given you good tidings in truth, so do not be of the despairing."

Qāla wa may yaqnaṭu mir raḥmati rabbihī illaḍ-ḍāllūn(a).
[56] He said, "And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord except for those astray?"

Qāla famā khaṭbukum ayyuhal-mursalūn(a).
[57] [Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?"

Qālū innā ursilnā ilā qaumim mujrimīn(a).
[58] They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals,

Illā āla lūṭ(in), innā lamunajjūhum ajma‘īn(a).
[59] Except the family of Lot; indeed, we will save them all

Illamra'atahū qaddarnā innahā laminal-gābirīn(a).
[60] Except his wife." Allah decreed that she is of those who remain behind.

Falammā jā'a āla lūṭinil-mursalūn(a).
[61] And when the messengers came to the family of Lot,

Qāla innakum qaumum munkarūn(a).
[62] He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown."

Qālū bal ji'nāka bimā kānū fīhi yamtarūn(a).
[63] They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing,

Wa ataināka bil-ḥaqqi wa innā laṣādiqūn(a).
[64] And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful.

Fa asri bi'ahlika biqiṭ‘im minal-laili wattabi‘ adbārahum wa lā yaltafit minkum aḥaduw wamḍū ḥaiṡu tu'marūn(a).
[65] So set out with your family during a portion of the night and follow behind them and let not anyone among you look back and continue on to where you are commanded."

Wa qaḍainā ilaihi żālikal-amra anna dābira hā'ulā'i maqṭū‘um muṣbiḥīn(a).
[66] And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning.

Wa jā'a ahlul-madīnati yastabsyirūn(a).
[67] And the people of the city came rejoicing.

Qāla inna hā'ulā'i ḍaifī falā tafḍaḥūn(i).
[68] [Lot] said, "Indeed, these are my guests, so do not shame me.

Wattaqullāha wa lā tukhzūn(i).
[69] And fear Allah and do not disgrace me."

Qālū awalam nanhaka ‘anil-‘ālamīn(a).
[70] They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people?"

Qāla hā'ulā'i banātī in kuntum fā‘ilīn(a).
[71] [Lot] said, "These are my daughters - if you would be doers [of lawful marriage]."

[72] By your life, [O Muhammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly.

Fa akhażathumuṣ-ṣaiḥatu musyriqīn(a).
[73] So the shriek seized them at sunrise.

Fa ja‘alnā ‘āliyahā sāfilahā wa amṭarnā ‘alaihim ḥijāratam min sijjīl(in).
[74] And We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of hard clay.

Inna fī żālika la'āyātil lil-mutawassimīn(a).
[75] Indeed in that are signs for those who discern.

Wa innahā labisabīlim muqīm(in).
[76] And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road.

Inna fī żālika la'āyatal lil-mu'minīn(a).
[77] Indeed in that is a sign for the believers.

Wa in kāna aṣḥābul-aikati laẓālimīn(a).
[78] And the companions of the thicket were [also] wrongdoers.

Fantaqamnā minhum, wa innahumā labi'imāmim mubīn(in).
[79] So We took retribution from them, and indeed, both [cities] are on a clear highway.

Wa laqad każżaba aṣḥābul-ḥijril-mursalīn(a).
[80] And certainly did the companions of Thamud deny the messengers.

Wa ātaināhum āyātinā fa kānū ‘anhā mu‘riḍīn(a).
[81] And We gave them Our signs, but from them they were turning away.

Wa kānū yanḥitūna minal-jibāli buyūtan āminīn(a).
[82] And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure.

Fa akhażathumuṣ-ṣaiḥatu muṣbiḥīn(a).
[83] But the shriek seized them at early morning.

Famā agnā ‘anhum mā kānū yaksibūn(a).
[84] So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn.

Wa mā khalaqnas-samāwāti wal-arḍa wa mā bainahumā illā bil-ḥaqq(i), wa innas-sā‘ata la'ātiyatun faṣfaḥiṣ-ṣafḥal-jamīl(a).
[85] And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness.

Inna rabbaka huwal-khallāqul-‘alīm(u).
[86] Indeed, your Lord - He is the Knowing Creator.

Wa laqad ātaināka sab‘am minal-maṡānī wal-qur'ānal-‘aẓīm(a).
[87] And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an.

Lā tamuddanna ‘ainaika ilā mā matta‘nā bihī azwājam minhum wa lā taḥzan ‘alaihim wakhfiḍ janāḥaka lil-mu'minīn(a).
[88] Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of the disbelievers, and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing to the believers

Wa qul innī anan-nażīrul-mubīn(u).
[89] And say, "Indeed, I am the clear warner" -

Kamā anzalnā ‘alal-muqtasimīn(a).
[90] Just as We had revealed [scriptures] to the separators

Allażīna ja‘alul-qur'āna ‘iḍīn(a).
[91] Who have made the Qur'an into portions.

Fa wa rabbika lanas'alannahum ajma‘īn(a).
[92] So by your Lord, We will surely question them all

‘Ammā kānū ya‘malūn(a).
[93] About what they used to do.

Faṣda‘ bimā tu'maru wa a‘riḍ ‘anil-musyrikīn(a).
[94] Then declare what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists.

Innā kafainākal-mustahzi'īn(a).
[95] Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockers

Allażīna yaj‘alūna ma‘allāhi ilāhan ākhar(a), fa saufa ya‘lamūn(a).
[96] Who make [equal] with Allah another deity. But they are going to know.

Wa laqad na‘lamu annaka yaḍīqu ṣadruka bimā yaqūlūn(a).
[97] And We already know that your breast is constrained by what they say.

Fa sabbiḥ biḥamdi rabbika wa kum minas-sājidīn(a).
[98] So exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him].

Wa‘bud rabbaka ḥattā ya'tiyakal-yaqīn(u).
[99] And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death).
