Surah Al-Qari`ah
Al-qāri‘ah(tu).
[1]
The Striking Calamity -
Mal-qāri‘ah(tu).
[2]
What is the Striking Calamity?
Wa mā adrāka mal-qāri‘ah(tu).
[3]
And what can make you know what is the Striking Calamity?
Yauma yakūnun-nāsu kal-farāsyil-mabṡūṡ(i).
[4]
It is the Day when people will be like moths, dispersed,
Wa takūnul-jibālu kal-‘ihnil-manfūsy(i).
[5]
And the mountains will be like wool, fluffed up.
Fa ammā man ṡaqulat mawāzīnuh(ū).
[6]
Then as for one whose scales are heavy [with good deeds],
Fa huwa fī ‘īsyatir rāḍiyah(tin).
[7]
He will be in a pleasant life.
Wa ammā man khaffat mawāzīnuh(ū).
[8]
But as for one whose scales are light,
Fa ummuhū hāwiyah(tun).
[9]
His refuge will be an abyss.
Wa mā adrāka mā hiyah.
[10]
And what can make you know what that is?
Nārun ḥāmiyah(tun).
[11]
It is a Fire, intensely hot.
